New Year Resolutions

Here we are at the end of another year! On the way home from visiting my cousin yesterday, I thought about how people are always making their resolutions. The first week or two usually we are working at them, but slowly fall back into the same ole routines. Habits? Lifestyles? Lack of dedication? Yes, yes, and yes.  Hey, I've been there....  Perhaps too, the bar is set to high for us to achieve. Given that with the previous mentioned factors, we are all set up for failure.

What to do?

At first, I thought I would just ignore the whole resolution thing. Then I decided to bring the bar down and make reasonable resolutions. And I have. Here we go:

1. I will have my oil changed on time.

2. I will have my tires rotated more often.

3. I will wash my car more often. (OK, I know that is 3 car things in a row, but you have to remember I was in the car when I made this list.)

4. I will be more out-going.

5. I will read more current novels.

6. I will not repeat myself so often.

7. I will try to eat more fiber.

8. I will look for a toe ring that does not come off so easily and disappear.

9. I will not repeat myself so often.

10. I will work harder at making the circle thing in the front yard a flower bed this year.

Ok, that's it.  I make no promises on any of them, but for the first week or so in 2007, I will be making an effort!!

Thanks to all who read my journal!  There are wonderful readers out here in J-land and I've come to know a few of you rather well. Thank you for both being a part of my world and letting me glimpse into yours! I hope 2007 will be a wonderful year!

Be safe tonight if you're partying!

Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! I spent about 6 days down at Orange Beach with the sun and rain taking turns showing their faces.  Christmas Day was to windy and cold to enjoy much of anything on the beach.

BTW, if you ever go down that way and looking for a place to eat, try Lambert's Cafe.  www.throwedrolls.com  .

But, I'm glad to be home.... ain't nothing like it!!

Merry Christmas... just a little early...

I know this is several days early, but I'm not sure I'm going to be around very much the next several days. I hope all of you have a wondrful Christmas holiday!

Other day, as I was driving down the road, this song came on the radio.  "PERFECT!" I thought to myself. I hunted and finally found the orginal, (or one of them).  Enjoy!

See?There are more out there!  LOL

Sorry if this offends anyone!!  I tried to shrink it, but it wouldn't shrink any more than this!!

Full Moons and Artic Fronts

This past week was full of wierd little happenings and big-time attitudes at school . . . including mine!  When we have a full moon, the kids begin to be wierd.  I try to stay normal.  OK, OK, I know what you're thinking.  As close to me being normal as possible.

It started first thing Monday morning with a phone call from a parent.  It seems her son took home a kotex from school and she just wanted to 'warn' me about his fascination about these items (which we already knew) and for me to find someone to counsel him about it.

Next, it was my turn to come unglued.  We have two homerooms in our class.  I get the younger kids.  All semester I've been telling them to go to homeroom and stay there.  Have they done that?  HECK NO!  Monday morning my head started spinning faster than Linda Blair's did in The Exorcist and yes, I think there was some green stuff spewing, but I'm not sure.

Then came the Artic blast on Wednesday! What a combination!  We won't even go into what happened after that.

I wonder if there is anyone else who was glad to see Friday afternoon get here??

Road Trips and Winners!

Hi Everyone!

It's been awhile since I posted anything, but just wanted to let you know everything is great!  Just before school was out for the Thanksgiving holiday, at 3:30 in fact, I found out the Special Olympic Volleyball Tournament was this week.  NOT next week as I had thought.  On Monday, I had to scramble around and send out letters to the parents of the 10 boys that were going, make arrangements for my sub (thanx Sue!), get everything in line for the kids that were not going.... well, I could go on all day, but what's the point?  I had lots of stuff to do.

We left yesterday morning (just after I got my flu shot) at around 10:00 in 76 degree weather.  Stop one: Taco Bell for lunch.   Stop two: Wood and Wind (We were early, so took the guys to a hunting/fishing place.  Really cool with real stuffed animals, like bear, cougars, elk, deer).  To bad I didn't have time to look all I wanted.)  Stop three: motel.  Stop four: O'Charley's.  And then survived the wierd weather (actually had tornado not far from us).

Enough about yesterday.

Today, the guys played 6 games, won 5, lost 1.  They got 1st PLACE!!!!  Way to go!!

Tired and exhausted, we arrived back at school about 2:45 in 39 degree weather.  The kids that were left at school left lots of congratulations for the players.  It was worth the trip just to see the faces of our winners!
